African Businesses Do Not Face Ruin From The Current Lockdowns

Restaurants and traders in Kenya
Several articles are publishing doom and gloom for African small-scale businesses during this Covid-19 pandemic and the consequent lockdowns. Without Government support, how shall they resume?

The point being missed is these businesses didn't get Government support to setup in the first place. Those same entrepreneurs and technicians shall need to get up and earn, whatever the case. The western

worlds incentives, offered to businesses are beautiful to see on the news, we imagine having them in #Africa, but the reality is they won't happen. So we move forward... We shall moan and groan. Then reality shall sink in (if it hasn't already) and we shall be back to reopening those stores with the vigor of the past.

My encouragement, businesses shall restart, with or without Government financing. The scales shall change. Some shall grow bigger and others shall trim. New enterprises shall arise. This is the time for African businesses to take advantage of the worldwide supply gaps, regroup and come back stronger. Stop imports and produce locally. Replicate learning's.

We don't only need capital to restart... good ideas and oodles of energy are what we are most. Bloomberg Media Distribution
